In confirmation of my telegram

of the 5th. instant, I regret to inform you that on the

4th. instant at about 9.30 p.m. No. 2 Police Boat was run

into in the Central Fairway by the "Wah Ying" launch and

that Police Constable 1, Percy True, who was in command

of the boat, was knocked overboard and drowned. His body

was found on the morning of the 5th. instant. One of the

Chinese Police is also missing. Police Constable Percy

True was enlisted locally on the 18th. of last April from

the Army Service Corps. His nearest relative is his

brother Mr. Harry Arthur True, 10 Montpelier Road, Sutton,

Surrey.
